Studio Schematics Finalized
Wednesday, December 18th, 2025
Ingalls & Co. has finalized the schematic design for
Creative Spaces and Stage 01, marking a
major project milestone and advancing the our campus into the
Construction Document phase ahead of city review and
approval.
Cleveland's Film Factory
Completed under the leadership of Christopher Lobas of
Lobas Architects, in close collaboration with
Rakauskas Architecture and
Neff & Associates, the final schematic design establishes
the architectural and technical framework for a 15,000-square-foot,
purpose-built sound stage and supporting production campus. Ingalls & Co.
extends its sincere appreciation to the full design team for their
creativity and disciplined execution as the drawings are issued to the
engineering consultants and coordinated construction documents move into
active development.
The design is rooted in and aims to champion Cleveland’s industrial
heritage.
“Our goal is for the campus to tell a story: one rooted in Cleveland’s
industrial past but relevant to its creative future. This is
Cleveland’s Film Factory, where the same precision and grit
that once forged the steel which built our nation now drives film
production.”
— James Ingalls, Founder and CEO
Creative Spaces and
Stage 01 are designed to meet professional studio
standards, providing minimum
30-foot clear interior heights, acoustically isolated
construction, 400-amp company switches, and approximately
35 watts per square foot of total available power. These
specifications support productions ranging from commercial work to episodic
television and feature films.
Site planning prioritizes real-world production workflows. Parking and
circulation are configured for high-density, long-term vehicle staging,
reflecting the operational realities of film production. Office spaces
emphasize shared, collaborative environments aligned with production team
needs.
Ingalls & Co. looks forward to sharing additional updates
as the project advances through the construction document and approval
process.

SimpleStrips Public Beta Launches
Thursday, October 24th, 2025
Ingalls & Co. continues building
Cleveland's filmmaking infrastructure through integrated
software, facilities, and workforce development with the public beta release
of SimpleStrips, expanding outreach to students and industry
professionals alike, and advancing design work on Stage 01.
SimpleStrips Now Available for Public Beta
The first software in our Simple Suite ecosystem,
SimpleStrips is now available as a
free public beta for Windows, macOS, and Linux. The desktop
application provides integrated stripboard scheduling, call sheets, and
breakdown sheets with instant screenplay import, smart sorting, and
multi-unit production support for up to 10 production units within a single
project. Built on the principles of
power, simplicity, and beauty, the software delivers professional production tools that are easier to
learn and faster to use than alternatives costing hundreds of dollars per
license.
SimpleStrips will continue rapid development based on user feedback,
with the next feature update introducing calendar-based workspace management
and automatic DOOD (Day Out of Days) report generation.
Austin Film Festival Representation
Head of Operations Isabel Rothberg and
Stage Manager Zeke Tucker will represent
Ingalls & Co. at the 32nd Austin Film Festival, October
24-31 in Austin, Texas. The festival brings together over 12,000 creative
professionals for eight days of panels, workshops, screenplay competitions,
and film screenings.
Through public networking events and private industry meetings, the company
will demonstrate SimpleStrips to filmmakers, producers, and
production professionals while sharing
Ingalls & Co.'s comprehensive approach to
filmmaking infrastructure. The representation connects
Cleveland's industrial discipline with the broader film
industry, showcasing how the city's manufacturing precision applies to both
production software and facilities development.
Forging Futures at Saint Ignatius
CEO James Ingalls II and Chief Networking Officer
Allan Velez participated in Saint Ignatius High School's
annual Day of Discernment, joining other alumni who returned to share their
college and career journeys with current seniors. The two spoke to students
about career pathways in film production and the company's mission. The
event helps students discern their future directions through direct exposure
to diverse professional paths. The school, founded in 1886, educates young
men in the Jesuit tradition of academic excellence and service, and is where
James Ingalls II and Allan Velez first met, making it a
natural partner for workforce development aligned with
Carnegie principles of shared prosperity.
Creative Spaces Design Progress
The company has reviewed and provided feedback on early drafts of the Master
Plan for Creative Spaces, the company's sound stage campus on E219th
Street in Euclid. Working with architectural partners
Rakauskas Architecture and
Lobas Architects alongside engineering partners
Neff & Associates, Ingalls & Co. is
refining the comprehensive site plan for Stage 01 and
future expansion phases. The 4.32-acre campus will provide
purpose-built filmmaking infrastructure meeting major
studio production standards, located 15 minutes from
downtown Cleveland.

Design Review & Expansion
Wednesday, August 20th, 2025
We at Ingalls & Co. happily announce substantial progress
across all three divisions as Stage 01 enters design review
phase in Euclid, Ohio. The company has expanded operations through
Tape 30's active production schedule and launched the
Simple Suite software division, while progress continues on
Cleveland's premier 15,000 square foot sound stage.
Creative Spaces Advances to Design Review
Stage 01, the company's flagship 15,000 square foot sound
stage on E219th Street in Euclid, has entered the design review phase. Our
engineering partners Neff & Associates and our architectural partners
Rakauskas Architecture and
Lobas Architects are preparing detailed plans for company
approval, which we will then submit to the city for final build
authorization. The facility will meet all
major studio production standards with 30-foot minimum
clear heights and industry-standard 400 amp company switches with 35 watts
per square foot in total power. The stage will provide an acoustically
isolated environment suitable for productions ranging from commercial
campaigns to episodic television and feature films. Future phases include
on-site mill workshop, production design warehouse, and additional sound
stages on our 4.32-acre campus, located 15 minutes from downtown Cleveland.
Tape 30's Audience Grows
Tape 30, our media production division, has commenced active
operations with a series of music videos for Cleveland artist Conor Michael
Smith. The team has already wrapped the productions for "Inside Out," "It'll
be Alright," and "Sunset," with "Wriglyville" currently in development.
Software Division
Ingalls & Co. has additionally now established
Simple Suite as its third operational division, developing filmmaking
software solutions built on principles of
power, simplicity, and beauty. SimpleStrips, an integrated
stripboard, call sheet, and breakdown tool, is currently undergoing internal
testing through Tape 30, with SimpleShots, a shot list and
storyboard software, in early development.
Community is Core
Following the Carnegie principle that industrial enterprise owes its
achievements to the community that sustains it, we have continued to grow
our
Preferred Vendors Network to connect productions with
Cleveland's finest service providers. Local partnerships
will ensure that Greater Cleveland's businesses, educational institutions,
and skilled workforce share directly in the prosperity that comprehensive
production infrastructure creates.
